J.I. Case opened its doors in September of 1967 and became an authorized IB Diploma Programme school in October of 1978. At that time, we were the 116th Diploma Programme in the world!

By the 1980-81 school year there were 124 students were taking IB classes in English HL, French and German SL, History HL, Biology HL, and Chemistry SL. Over the many years, our programme has grown and flourished. Today, out of a school population of a little less than 2,000 students with approximately 1000 juniors and seniors, 450 juniors and seniors are in IB classes. We offer English HL, French B SL and Ab Initio SL, German B SL and Ab Initio SL, and Spanish B SL and Ab Initio SL, History HL, Psychology SL, Biology HL, Chemistry SL, Physics SL, Math SL, Math Studies SL, and Visual Art in both SL and HL.

Our pass rate for exams is usually in the 70% range, and our Full Diploma pass rate averages in the 70-80%. It is our goal to graduate Case IB students who are internationally-minded and fully prepared for the rigor and time management necessary to find success at institutions of higher learning and in their lives beyond.
